Driving Directions to Inn on the Green

We are located in the heart of Middlebury, Vermont, approximately 8 hours by car from New York City and 4 hours from Boston. If you're driving from out of state, please see the directions below. View Map

Vermont's major airport is Burlington International (BTV) which hosts several major carriers, and is less than an hour from Middlebury. Driving Directions from Boston

OPTION #1:
From I-89 take exit #1 for Woodstock and Route 4 [West].

Continue on Route 4 until it intersects with Rout 7 [North] in Rutland.

Continue on Route 7 all the way into Middlebury (about 35 miles).

After the fifth traffic light, turn left at the next street, Cross Street which soon curves right to become South Pleasant Street. We are the big blue house with black shutters just beyond the Baptist Church. Driveway and parking are on the south side of the building. Use the front or rear entrance of the main building.

OPTION #2:
 From I-89 [North], take the Bethel Exit #3 to Route 107 [West].

Stay on Route 107 until it intersects Route 100 [North], which will be a right turn for you.

Continue on Route 100 [North] until the intersection with Route 125 in Hancock.

Turn left onto Route 125 [West] and continue over the mountain until intersection with Route 7 [North].

Turn right on Route 7 and continue North through 5 stop-lights.

After the fifth traffic light, turn left at the next street, Cross Street which soon curves right to become South Pleasant Street. We are the big blue house with black shutters just beyond the Baptist Church. Driveway and parking are on the south side of the building. Use the front or rear entrance of the main building.

Directions from Massachusetts and Connecticut

OPTION #1
Stay on I-91 [North] until junction with I-89 [North]. Continue on I-89 [North] until Exit#3, the “Bethel” exit.

From Bethel, take Route 107 [West] to Route 100 [North]. Follow Route 100 [North] to Route 125 [West]. Follow Route 125 to Route 7 [North] to Middlebury.

Go through 5 stop-lights. After the fifth traffic light, turn left at the next street, Cross Street which soon curves right to become South Pleasant Street. We are the big blue house with black shutters just beyond the Baptist Church. Driveway and parking are on the south side of the building. Use the front or rear entrance of the main building.

OPTION #2
From I-91, take exit for Chester and Rockingham onto Route 103.

Stay on Route 103 through Ludlow, to Route 7 [North]. Turn right onto Route 7.

Continue on Route 7 all the way to Middlebury, roughly 35 miles.

After the fifth traffic light, turn left at the next street, Cross Street which soon curves right to become South Pleasant Street. We are the big blue house with black shutters just beyond the Baptist Church. Driveway and parking are on the south side of the building. Use the front or rear entrance of the main building.

Directions from NY, NJ, PA & DC

Take Exit#20 off I-87 [North], the “Lake George & Vermont” exit.

Turn left after exiting and proceed straight. At traffic light at the intersection with Route 149, turn right.

Stay on Route 149 until Fort Anne traffic light. Turn left at this light onto Route 4.

Stay on Route 4 through Whitehall and into Vermont, taking Exit#4. From Exit#4, take a left onto Route 30. Stay on Route 30 all the way into Middlebury.

Cross the bridge in Middlebury, then turn a right on Merchant’s Row, by the Alpine Shop. Continue up that short street for one block and look across the street for a big blue house with black shutters. Pull into driveway at south side of the Inn, and come in the front or rear door. 

Directions from Montreal, Quebec

Take Exit#13 from I-89 to Route 7, toward Shelburne & Middlebury.

Continue on Route 7 [South] to Middlebury, about 36 miles.

After one stop light continue South, with the Town Green on your right.

Continue straight, even when Route 7 bears to the left.

We are the first house on your left as you head straight, blue with black shutters.

Driveway and parking are on the South side, and use the front or rear entrance.

Directions from Burlington, VT

Take Route 7 South toward Shelburne & Middlebury.

Continue on Route 7 [South] to Middlebury, about 36 miles.

After one stop light continue South, with the Town Green on your right.

Continue straight, even when Route 7 bears to the left.

We are the first house on your left as you head straight, blue with black shutters.

Driveway and parking are on the South side, and use the front or rear entrance.
