Property Accessibility

We will modify our policies, practices, or procedures to ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations for accessible guest rooms during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals who do not need accessible rooms,

We identify and describe accessible features at our inn and guest rooms offered through our reservations system with enough detail to reasonably permit individuals with disabilities to assess independently whether a given place of lodging or guest room meets his/her accessibility needs,

We do not ensure that accessible guest rooms are held for use by individuals with disabilities until all other guest rooms of that type have been rented and the accessible room requested is the only remaining room of that type

We do reserve, upon request, accessible guest rooms or specific types of guest rooms and ensure that the guest rooms requested are blocked and removed from all reservations systems,

We will guarantee that the specific accessible guest room reserved through your reservation system is held for the reserving guest, regardless of whether a specific room is held in response to reservations made by others.

We do allow guests to contact you directly via email, phone, or social media if they require assistance with booking your reservation.

Property Accessibility Features

The inn was built in 1803 and has only stair access to the main entrance and rear entrance of the building. There are no ramps to get into the main house. Our Salisbury Room and carriage house first floor rooms (Orwell and Ripton) allow for guests who are unable to navigate stairs. Orwell and Ripton have a ramp entry and shower rails. Salisbury is a ground level room but the bathroom does not provide accommodations for limited mobility.

Wheelchair Accommodations

We do you offer wheelchair access in the Orwell and Ripton rooms which are both on ground floor of carriage house. Our carriage house is directly accessible from the parking lot. The paved ramp entrance allows easy access into the building. The Orwell and Ripton rooms are located on the main floor and offer a larger layout to better accommodate wheelchairs. These two rooms also provide shower rails and magnetic shower heads. Mini fridges are also included with these rooms to better accommodate guests. Please note that this building does not have automatic doors. We have paved parking in front of buildings with enough for one car per guest. Dependent on occupancy, we can offer room for a van with a side ramp.

We do not have the following:

  • Power-assisted doors, wheelchairs or portable stools
  • Public wheelchair accessible restrooms
  • Elevators

Blind or Low Vision Accommodations

Service animals welcomed.  We do not have braille signage throughout property
